The new president of an Italian foodcompany needed a turnaround strategy that would address the complex issue eroding growth and growing inventories.
As supply chain director I analyzed the information-, product and inventory flow between the factory in the east of Italy and the sales department in Milan and recommended to implement a new process. In addition, we made recommendations to refine the pricing strategy and distribution strategy.
We implemented a Sales & Operations Planning process in both entities. As a result Italy could minimize the out of stock situations and fulfill demand effectively. We implemented a new distribution strategy and could increase the profit margins by optimalizing distribution channels.
